Inhalt

This course is about Wearable Computing (I think that even used to be the title). Course topics are Miniaturization, Sampling, Data Pre-(Processing), Activity Recognition, Power Management and more around Wearables.

Lectures are every week without mandatory attendance and give a theoretical understanding of Wearables

Übungen

Each person receives an esp32-smartwatch for the semester.

Exercises: There is 3 exercises that each give 10P. For exercise 1&2 you have to record data on the accelerometer and do signal analysis (filtering etc) in a python. Then you implement glance and walking detection on the watch in C. Exercise 3 is done in python only and is about vital sign analysis.

Project: There is a group project with up to 5 members. You have to think about the topic "Quantifiable Self" and work out an idea/project for the semester with 4 Milestones. M1 is 10P, the other Milestones are 20 Points. Milestone 1 and Milestone 4 are mandatory presentations. The Milestones include activity recognition, signal analysis (preprocessing, feature extraction) and implementation on the watch.

Exercise 1 took quite some time cause you had to set up everything. Otherwise its all doable and not too much work.
