Exogenous and endogenous growth models in continuous (all the other ones - see tiss) and discrete time (OLG)
Interpreting and deriving linear models from data
Sometimes reading parts of papers is part of the tasks

Weekly meetings (1h), solving exercise sheets at home, presenting them at the blackboard
Benötigte/Empfehlenswerte Vorkenntnisse[edit | edit source]
Mathematical foundations as Algebra for CS [1] and Analysis 1 for CS [2], as well as some course on optimization [3] is needed.
Any basic macro [4] and micro [5] course helps a lot.
Advised, but not necessary to do in advance, advanced macro [6] as well as any course in econometrics [7] and maybe (maybe) modeling and simulation [8][9]..

11-12 sheets per semester, 2-4 tasks per sheet

about 2.5 ECTS, lecturer encourages you to cooperate with other students, task about modifications of standard models which are presented in papers are often the most time consuming ones.
Considering VO+UE, 4.5 ECTS is adequate.

Do the lecture at the same time. It was definitely worth it (about 7 people were present in WS20 - very personal style of the lecture).
UE definitely prepares you for the VO written exam.
In case you are interested in macroeconomics this course is a must have :)
Verbesserungsvorschläge / Kritik[edit | edit source]
meetings might last longer than 60 min (you are ofc allowed to leave in case you have to) because lecturer cares about students to understand the tasks and adds sometimes a lot of info.
