We could add a FAQ section below the courses, with useful answers to questions about the curriculum that can't easily be answered by reading the curriculum document. Some of these can be copies of the ones in the discord FAQ channel:

Question 1: Data science has four cores modules where each core module has two courses making up 6 ECTS. If a student completes all four core modules making up 24 ECTS, does this 24 ECTS count towards cores? (Answer from Hanbury) You must complete a minimum of two core modules. All core modules completed count.

Question 2: If a student has completed all four core modules, can he/she then choose extension courses from all four core modules? (Answer from Hanbury) Yes.

Question 3: If a student has completed two core modules, and a single course from a third core module, how is the credits for this single course from the third module counted? does this single course count towards the core or free electives? (Answer from Hanbury) Courses from an extension module for which the corresponding core module has not been completed can only count as free electives.

Question 4: I got a letter stating that I must complete bachelor courses (Auflage) but they are in German and I don't speak German, how can I pass them? It is possible to pass any of these courses without speaking German. Data analysis: has been switched to 100% English Database Systems: Lecture recordings, lecture slides, exercise sheets and exams are offered in English. Only the lectures are exclusively in German. Algorithms and Data Structures: A new English version of the course has been introduced in 2024. Introduction to Programming 1: by using an automatic translation service (deepl, google translate, chatGPT) you can translate the slides and exercise sheets to English and this is enough to do all the exercises. During the exercise sessions, you can translate the task sheet by opening a browser, and you can ask a tutor for help with understanding the instructions. To prepare for the exam, you can make translations of all previous exams. During the exam, you are hopefully familiar enough with the questions to understand most of the instructions. Ask a tutor to translate the remaining parts that are not clear. Introduction to programming 2: the lectures and lecture notes (script) are in German, but you can make translations of the slides and script. Unfortunately the slides are not very useful. The exercises and exams are in English. The exams contain multiple-choice questions in German, but you can ask the prof to replace this with an oral exam at the end of the course, where he will just ask you the same questions in English.
