Inhalt

various topics and papers about socio-technical issues are discussed

WS24/25: Disability, Feminism, VR, Tracking, Games, Cyborgs, ...

Ablauf

WS 24/25: Weekly session of 1.5 hours. For the VO there were mandatory readings with different topics every week, the papers ranged from 5-40 pages. In the lecture the paper and additional material were discussed and the students had to actively ask or answer questions about the readings or discuss topics with their classmates.

Sometimes there was a guest lecture.

At the end you had to create a poster and present a previous topic in groups.

Benötigte/Empfehlenswerte Vorkenntnisse

none required

experience with reading complex texts is recommended but you will get better at it throughout the course

in-person lectures are mainly interactive with discussions among classmates, no recordings

some in-person guest lectures

Tipps

I recommend going to the lectures as it is very interesting and a different teaching method compared to others, the lecturers put a lot of effort into keeping the students engaged

You should be a bit interested in the topic and at least take a glance at the mandatory reading to be able to take part in the discussions, otherwise going there doesn't make sense
