Inhalt[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Different protocols and principles that are used in the world of IoT are covered in the lectures. Also Thingy52 (a Bluetooth development board) & zephyrOS and ESP32 & Arduino are explained/introduced as they are used for the projects.

Ablauf[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Weekly lectures by Prof. Bartocci covering the theory. There are also several practical demonstrations with the esp (if they work).

There were two smaller assignments concerning the thingy52 devices. The first one more or less to get used to programming the boards (just flashing LEDs) and the second one about Bluetooth connections and reading the temperature sensor.

The project is done groups of 3 and builds upon the Bluetooth assignment. The goal is to take temperature measurements with several thingy52s, send it via Bluetooth to the esp and then via MQTT (over a local relay broker) to the dashboard and visualize the data there.

The presentation is somewhat interesting but nothing is really important for your project. Nevertheless Prof. Bartocci sometimes hands out components for the exercise part and therefore at least some attandance is necessary. Also he likes to always shorten the lectures and therefore there are only a handfull of lectures overall.

In gourps of three and the effort is relative small if you have some experience with ESPs and MQTT.

Prüfung, Benotung[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

No written exam.

The projects have to be presented in the end of the semester ~15min incl. a small demonstration of what you did.
