There was one short introduction with organisational information and four lectures. All done on zoom, recordings were provided.

Vortrag

Ok, the English is understandable, sometimes it's a bit slow for me, but that can easily be modified when watching the recordings. It's noticeable that it's the first time the lecture is held, I hope she'll do new recordings next year.

Prüfung, Benotung

Multiple Choice questions and two open text questions about a visualization. We were told during the introduction that we could select our own visualization, print it and bring it to the exam. If we did that, we could already prepare with some questions she mentioned at the end of the lectures, which were supposed to be similar to the exam questions. There were prints of visualizations available for the students who didn't bring one. Both multiple choice and open text questions were more or less what I'd expected, other than one MC question referencing something only mentioned in the introduction.

In my opinion 3 ECTS are generous, but I did know some of it already from Informationsvisualisierung.

Unterlagen

It's great that recordings, slides and annotated slides are provided. However, the normal slides have too little information to study/recap using only the slides. The annotated slides have additionally almost the same text she is saying in the videos, just as big blocks of text. This is nice for using a program to search, but not useful to recap.

Verbesserungsvorschläge / Kritik

She mentioned something about not preparing the slides (or at least not all slides?) herself, and I do wonder if they'd be better if she had. It's also noticeable that she sometimes expects something that is not in the slides (though it might be in later) and sometimes did not expect a slide to be there, which breaks the flow of the lecture. She was also not there during the exam, and I think she would have had better answers to our questions about the exam questions.
