Inhalt[edit | edit source]
It is a course which consists of two parts (see second part TU Wien:Design Thinking-Implementation VU (Tellioglu)). The goal is to develop a tangible system in these two semesters. The goal of the first part is to generate an idea for the tangible system using different methods of Design Thinking. The methods you will be learning and using are:
- Literature Review
- Expert Interview
- Cultural Probes
- Provocative Requisites
- Design Games
- Scenarios
- Narrative Poster
- Design Workshop
- Portfolio
Ablauf[edit | edit source]
You form groups of 4-5 people. After forming the group, you will grab a project theme that you will be work on the whole semester. The goal is to create a tangible system. There are almost every 1-2 weeks assignments for the group project. At the beginning there are two assignments where you don't really work as a group (Literature Review and Expert Interviews). After each assignments you have to hand-in a documentation and analysis of the outcomes. There are also mandatory lectures held by Peter or Prof. Tellioglu once a week. Additionally, there are two presentations where you as a group present your team progress.
You are also asked to create a portfolio during the whole semester. In the portfolio, you can add course related content, but also personal or work-related content.

Vortrag[edit | edit source]
It is recommended that you visit the lectures because each lecture is about one method which you will be apply for the group project. Visiting the lectures helps during the conduction.
There will also be tutors during the semester whom you can ask when you have questions about your project. The lecturers are also pretty easy to reach.
Übungen[edit | edit source]
For the group project you have to on the one hand conduct the methods. After conducting each method, you have to document the whole progress and outcome in 8-10 pages. During the semester there will be one intermediate presentation and a final presentation that the group has to prepare.
In the intermedia presentation, you will be showing the results of the methods applied so far. The final presentation (which will be held in Seestadt) is really about presenting your final idea.
Prüfung, Benotung[edit | edit source]
The grade consists of the methods you applied, the two presentations, and the assignments you submit.
Dauer der Zeugnisausstellung[edit | edit source]
Final presentation: 17.01.2019; Certificate: 27.02.2019
Zeitaufwand[edit | edit source]
Practical part: There are assignments almost every week. You will have at least 1-2 hours group meeting once week (sometimes also twice a week) for the preparation of each method. Depending on the method, you have to plan the time for the conduction. This can take 2-4 hours. The analysis and documentation would also take another 2-4 hours.
Lecture part: You just have to visit the lectures once a week for 1.5h - 2.5h hours.
