Ablauf[edit | edit source]
There are weekly lectures (2 hours), but not mandatory to visit. And there is the group work which takes the whole semester, but there are no deadlines for the submission. You just need to hand in the final paper of your work and write Prof. Glock about an exam date.

Vortrag[edit | edit source]
The lecture is very boring and not very helpful. It also really hard to understand Prof. Glock's English.
Übungen[edit | edit source]
It's a groupwork of 3-4 people, where you have to observe and record a design session. Then you have to transcript all the data and analyse it.
(SS18) We used LINKODER for the analysis. All the results are documented in a paper (around 10 pages), which is also relevant for the exam.
(SS20) Due to distance learning, the observing session was canceled and 3 written group exercises were given instead.
Prüfung, Benotung[edit | edit source]
It is an oral exam where you appear as a group. The exam consists of the paper of your group work and he also asks some questions regarding the lecture. The exam took approx. 3 hours, because Prof. Glock is really gone into a great deal of detail regarding the paper. He was referring to grammatical and spelling mistakes, which took approx 2 hours. In the remaining 1 hour he just asked everyone 2-3 questions.
The exam date can be done anytime (also during holidays possible).

Zeitaufwand[edit | edit source]
The transcription of the design session takes a lot of time. The recordings of the design session was approx. 1 hour, we were 4 people in the group, so 15 minutes each to transcript. For 15 minutes data, it took me more than an hour to transcript. For the exam about the lecture part, 1-2 days is enough.

- Try to get the project done close to the lecture part. It's considerably more work to try and code your transcript months later.
